Soleil Tan Bronze

Chanel Soleil Tan Bronze Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream ($ 50.00 for 1.06 oz.) Is a light golden brown with warmer undertones and a natural finish – not entirely fresh, but not entirely matte either. The texture was emollient, smooth, and had a gel-like glide that worked well on bare skin and foundation. The formula did not tend to lift base products even if they were more dull.

It appeared to have a more semi-opaque coverage when initially applied, but the formula was softening enough that it faded away noticeably once you tried to diffuse and blend it. I could build up the color easily but never get coverage in one swipe when I wanted a blended edge. It wore well for eight hours before noticeably fading.

Formula overview

$ 50.00 / 1.06 oz. – $ 47.17 per ounce

The formula should have a “smoothing effect” with a “natural look” and a “velvety matt finish” that ensures a “sun-kissed glow”. When it was simply swapped it had a semi-opaque to opaque coverage, but in practice it was more semi-transparent to medium-sized as the texture was more prone to bleeding and in some ways fading. This made it more forgiving and hard to overdo, but it made the very limited color palette less versatile.

The texture was smooth, gel-like – emollient, thin, and spreadable without being sticky or blotchy – and workable with fingertips or a brush. It worked well on bare skin or patted it on the foundation as it didn’t stain or lift base products. The formula held on me for eight hours before it visibly faded.
