“It comes as no surprise to many of us that we have many talented people who we feel very lucky for and who would expect or hope that progressive administration will adopt their skills and abilities,” she said.
The White House refused to answer Insider’s questions.
Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, who was the vice-presidential candidate for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Democracy Ticket, praised the dependable revolving door of talent coming through the CAP.
“It was very important for us to have an intellectual hangout off the hill that we know is constantly trying to be creative about politics,” he told Insider in March.
Kaine suggested that when the Democrats lost the presidential race in 2016, the CAP became a first port of call for retooling.
He called it “a great place to keep hope alive” in an inside interview.
Alabama Republican Senator Richard Shelby, who sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee, is concerned that the Biden presidency is being put on the agenda of the liberal-minded CAP and other think-tanks like this one.
“It confirms that we have probably the most liberal regime in the White House that we have had in a long time, if at all,” he said.
