The popular messaging platform WhatsApp had previously started the status function after it was inspired by the stories of Instagram and Facebook. However, it didn’t become as popular as the company expected. With this feature, WhatsApp users can share photos, videos and GIFs in status.
The process is quite simple as a user must first go to the status area in the app, click the camera icon there and then either click a photo / record a video or upload a media file from the gallery. After uploading, click the Submit button.
Now the question arises, what if we like a status and then want to download it? It is possible that you would like to send the video in personal chat, but what if you don’t want to ask, there is an alternative to downloading the status. When it comes to photos, there is a screengrab option, but that doesn’t work for videos.
Here’s a quick trick to downloading a video from someone else’s status:
Step 1: Download Google Files on an Android smartphone from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: After that, click on the menu icon in the top left corner of the app
Step 3: Click the Settings option
Step 4: Turn on the switch for the “Show hidden files” option
Step 5: Go to the file manager of your smartphone
Step 6: Next, click on the internal storage option> WhatsApp> Media> Status
Step 7: You can check the status displayed in the folder. Click on the photo / video you are looking for
Step 8: Long press the status video you want to download and save it to your desired location.
