(Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc has filed a motion urging the US National Labor Relations Board to suspend union elections at its Bessemer, Alabama camp from February 8th.

The company also requested a review of an earlier employment office decision to hold the election by mail due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Jan. 21 filing.

The company alleged multiple loopholes in labor authority precedent, mistakes by the incumbent regional director, and missed opportunities to improve postal voting to support its application.

The union declined to comment on the matter.
