PORTABLE DRUG DETECTOR
The Chinese Ministry of Public Security has passed an evaluation of a hand-held drug detector developed by researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The device can provide quick test results to identify and determine the amount of morphine, methamphetamine, and ketamine.
The portable device was independently developed by scientists from the CAS-affiliated Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and is equipped with a small fluorescence detection module. A fluorescent labeling reagent is used to display the test results.
FISH DIVERSITY IN THE YANGTZE RIVER
East China’s Jiangsu Province saw a sharp increase in fish species in the local section of the Yangtze River last year. The latest survey and monitoring data on the biological diversity of the river section showed this on Saturday.
