CARGO SPACESHIP MISSION

According to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), China’s freighter Tianzhou-2, which carries supplies, equipment and propellants, successfully docked with the core module of the Tianhe space station on Sunday.

At 5:01 a.m. (Beijing time), Tianzhou-2 and Tianhe completed a computerized rendezvous and docking. The whole process took about eight hours, the CMSA said.

The Long March-7 Y3 rocket carrying Tianzhou-2 was launched on Saturday at 8:55 p.m. (Beijing time) from the launch site of the Wenchang spacecraft on the coast of the southern island province of Hainan.

SELF-DRIVE IN BEIJING

The safety test mileage of the self-driving vehicles in Beijing has so far exceeded 3 million km, which corresponds to a trip around the equator 75 times.

Currently, the city has 226 routes for testing self-driving vehicles with a total length of approximately 752.4 km, according to Beijing Mobility Innovation Center Intelligent Co., Ltd.

BEIDOU SYSTEM

China’s self-developed Beidou navigation technology is aiming for rapid development in industrial applications as it continues to expand its global presence at an industry conference, according to experts.

The value of industries related to the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has increased an average of more than 20 percent annually for the past decade, and last year exceeded 400 billion yuan (62.14 Billion US dollars) exceeded conference showed.

Yang Jun, deputy director of China’s Satellite Navigation Systems Administration Bureau, said the figure is estimated to be over 1 trillion yuan by 2025.
