In a self-published Medium post, Scott announced that she was donating $ 2.7 billion to a variety of charities.
Her most recent contribution brings her total donations to $ 8.5 billion since her first fundraiser in July 2020.

Scott tied the knot with Dan Jewett, a Washington high school science teacher, two years after her divorce from Bezos.
Jewett announced the marriage to Mackenzie in a post on The Giving Pledge, a platform where celebrities and the world’s richest pledge to give away most of their wealth for life.
“It is strange to write a letter saying that I intend to give away the majority of my fortune while I was alive, as I have never tried to amass the kind of wealth it takes to feel like it something like that would have special meaning, “said Jewett wrote.
He added, “And now, by a happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kindest people I know – and join her in imparting tremendous financial wealth to serve others.”

In his pledge about Scott, Jewett wrote, “I’ve seen many ways MacKenzie has enhanced her efforts when she believes that people with common values but different perspectives, strengths, and experiences are essential to making positive change.
“We are united by this understanding and enthusiasm for everything we have to learn from so many people who work in the service of others.”
According to Forbes, Jewett worked as a chemistry teacher at Lakeside School, which was attended by Scott and Bezos’ children.
