New Delhi: To enable users to increase the playback speed of voice messages, WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, has introduced a new “Fast Playback” feature aimed at those who rely on long voice messages.
WhatsApp’s fast playback feature allows you to change the playback speed between the default 1x, 1.5x, or 2x without changing the pitch of someone else’s voice.
It’s easy to use – when you press play on a voice message, it shows the playback speed, which is set to 1x by default. Just touch the speed to increase the speed 1.5 or 2 times, a company statement said.
Then just press play. In honor of the start of fast playback, WhatsApp shared a short video on social platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, it added.
WhatsApp voice messaging lets you talk to friends and family whenever it suits you and let them listen whenever it suits them, while still giving everyone a more personal connection than what you get from a text message.
Users can simply open an individual or group chat, touch the microphone icon and slide up to lock hands-free recording. However, finding the time to listen to a long voice message can be difficult.
So WhatsApp introduces Fast Playback, which speeds up the message and makes it possible to cut the time it takes to listen to your longest voice messages, according to the company.
The new feature is now available to users on WhatsApp.
