Chanel Blast (146) Rouge Coco Bloom lip color ($ 40.00 for 0.11 oz.) Is a deep, burgundy color with a subtle, darker red pearl spread over a brighter finish. It had a semi-opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly to my lips without noticeably settling into my deeper lip lines.

The texture was light, moderately pliable, but not too slippery (it didn’t feather / bleed me) and was comfortable to wear. The color stayed good for five hours and felt moisturizing over time.

The majority of the shades had a semi-opaque to opaque coverage, with some having a more translucent coverage. The color is usually applied evenly and evenly to my lips without puffing or noticeably settling in my lip lines.

The texture was pliable, more like a lipstick and lip balm hybrid with moderate slip and a tendency to be more yielding as it warmed against my lips, though it didn’t start out stiff or firm either. I found that most of the shades flattered my lips as they tend to be more forgiving of imperfections in texture.

While they weren’t particularly long-lasting – more like three to five hours of deeper red-based hues that lasted the longest – they were comfortable, moisturizing, and not prone to leakage / bleeding. They had a floral scent, but no discernible taste.

Chanel Surprise (148) Rouge Coco Bloom lip color ($ 40.00 for 0.11 oz.) Is a deep rose red with cool undertones and a bright finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer that didn’t completely cover itself, even though the color was applied evenly and smoothly to my lips. I was impressed with the evenness as there are many more balm-like formulas in this type of color visibly getting stuck in my lip lines.

The consistency felt pliable with moderate slip, but did not slide around as easily while wearing. It wore well for five hours, leaving a faint stain, and feeling moisturizing when worn.
