The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift was unveiled a few months after the debut of the standard Tiguan Facelift, which will be launched in India in the coming months. This is not to be confused with the Tiguan Allspace offered on our market before the facelift, of which a second batch was allocated for India after the first sell-out in 2020. As with the five-seat Tiguan, the Tiguan Allspace Facelift receives a number of cosmetic changes that adapt it to the smaller model, as well as new technical and safety functions.

The most important changes to the outside include the new “IQ Light” LED headlights (with 24 semi-automatic LEDs that adapt to different road conditions), a bolder grille with a narrow LED bar and the new Volkswagen logo, as well as a redesigned one Front bumper, new alloy wheel designs and LED taillights with revised light signature. The new front end of the Tiguan Allspace has increased its length by 22 mm, but the internal dimensions remain unchanged.

In the interior, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift receives the company’s new generation MIB3 infotainment system (with touchscreen sizes from 8.0 to 9.2 inches), technology for connected cars, voice commands, various upholstery options, a new steering wheel and touch and slide controls for the automatic three-zone climate system.

As before, it will be continued with a digital instrument display “Virtual Cockpit”. Now it is also available with a color head-up display and a 480 watt audio system developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon. Three rows of seats are optional for overseas markets, and the trunk ranges from 700 to 1,755 liters with the second and third rows folded down.

Abroad, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift will be available with 1.5 and 2.0 liter petrol engines and the 2.0 liter diesel in two states. A seven-speed DSG automatic is continued together with Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive. In India, the 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 190 hp is the only engine available with the Tiguan Allspace.

In addition, the Tiguan Allspace facelift for international markets will be equipped with “IQ Drive Travel Assist”, which enables semi-autonomous driving at speeds of up to 210 km / h through the use of adaptive cruise control and lane assistance systems.

It is currently unclear whether Volkswagen intends to introduce the Tiguan Allspace facelift in India. When it was launched in 2020, the Tiguan Allspace, which was brought to India as a full import, was priced at 33.12 lakh. However, the second batch is more expensive. The Tiguan Allspace now costs 34.20 lakh (from the showroom). If Volkswagen launches the revamped model the same way, it will most likely cross the 35 rupee mark and be significantly more expensive than the five-seat Tiguan at that price. However, the standard Tiguan facelift is manufactured on site, and depending on market demand, Volkswagen could opt for the Tiguan Allspace facelift here as well.
