Last year RTIH received information from London-based fashion technology company Purple Dot.
“We believe we have the potential to be bigger than Klarna and one of our goals is to get there without putting buyers into debt,” said co-founder John Talbott.
Like Uncrowd, Purple Dot produced a submission for Startup of the Year, which also impressed the jury of the RTIH Innovation Awards 2020.
“You’re dealing with a problem that so many retailers have and no one has really cracked it,” said Sharon Peters, director of technology – Marks and Spencer, human resources, finance, business services, and M&S Bank.
“If they can, that would be phenomenal. What’s great is the real-time adjustment to product inventories and the almost continuous customer feedback to add value, but also to deliver products that a customer really wants – so you fail quickly but mostly learn. I would be curious to see how that works, ”she concluded.
