Colored Raine Naughty Spice Bronzer ($ 16.00 for 0.3 oz.) Is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm reddish undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer that was easily used with a lighter hand and still achieved higher coverage. The texture felt smooth and finely ground, but there was a dryness present that made it appear a little thinner and made it harder to spread and fade out.
When I tried to apply it to bare skin as seen in the photo above it never completely faded out and had a little bit of stain from where the product was first applied and didn’t want to fully diffuse / spread . I applied it a few more times after that, and the best application was when I applied it by tapping it onto a firm primer (so a completely matte finish) that was pretty miscible and resulted in an even application, with that I was satisfied. It took a good eight hours before it faded noticeably.

Formula overview

The formula is said to be a matte bronzer, although the brand also touted it as a multi-purpose bronzer, so the powders can also be used for lightening, makeup, contouring, or as an eyeshadow shade depending on your skin color for a given shade. The formula should be “buttery soft” and produce a “smoothing and pore blurring” effect.
It felt smooth enough, but it also felt a bit drier, which I found to be a kind of texture that is often harder for me to fade out. This applied to some of the shades – to varying degrees – and it was easiest to apply to a completely matte skin / foundation, e.g. B. on a firm primer, which made mixing more forgiving. It actually reminded me a lot of the texture AND experience I had with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer.
In the worst case, the product would stick unevenly wherever I first applied it, but then didn’t want to diffuse or fade out. I’ve had the best luck fading out the hues more evenly by gently tapping the product that I wanted the greatest coverage on (but not diffusing, mixing, or sweeping!) And using a clean buffer brush to mix more vigorously. The formula is best for someone who always applies their bronzer to matte or firm ground and doesn’t feel like using it on bare skin / glowing foundation.
They were very pigmented to the point where a little went a long way. Hence, using a lighter hand would be a great way to start using this formula and then adjust it as desired. When everything was faded out, it looked matte and smooth, even though it was almost flat matte on my normal to dry skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours before visibly fading.
