Rare Beauty Almost Neutral Stay Meltable Enamel Cream Blush Rare Beauty Almost Neutral Stay Meltable Enamel Cream Blush ($ 21.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a muted, dusty pink with warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had pure to semi-transparent color coverage in a single layer as described, and could be built up in the cover, but I found the formula made this less desirable as the product became more prone to lifting and pushing away from itself (which led to a more inconsistent, uneven result), even if the cover had built up differently.

The texture was smooth, light, and thin – more like a traditional cream blush – when initially touched and removed from the pan, but felt drier and more powdery when it came into contact with the skin. Since I found the product to be less forgiving after it dried out (and very quickly!), The brush gave me more working time and ultimately a higher success rate than my fingertips. I found fingertips were better for filling in a little extra color when I only needed them in a very small area. It worked well on bare skin and on lighter coats for this first coat.

It wore well for eight hours before it visibly faded, but it didn’t tend to slide around because it didn’t stay wet or sticky after application.

Formula overview

$ 21.00 / 0.17 oz. – – $ 123.53 per ounce

The formula is said to be a “liquid-like cream” that “melts” on the skin for a “second skin” look with a “soft focus wash” that is “water resistant” and “satin finish”. “” It appeared to be water resistant when I tested it on the back of my hand and certainly didn’t move easily after it was faded and dried.

The texture was thin, emollient, and more like a traditional pan cream, but when it was initially picked up with a fingertip or brush, it dried quickly and turned into a more powdery finish that was satin-like. – not completely matt, but not at all moist – if it came into contact with the skin. Because of this, a dab brush was a little easier to work with and more forgiving than a fingertip.

The pigmentation was as marketed; It was plain or semi-sheer with some ability to build up coverage, but the more silicone-heavy formula was better built with a layer or two than stronger as it tended to pill and lift when too busy. I don’t know I’d consider it a hassle-free formula, but once you figure out the best technique, the results themselves are more foolproof because the coverage is sharper.

The formula worked better on bare skin and lighter-colored foundations that were matte to more natural but not overly moist / shiny. The formula was mixable, but unless I got a decent mix quickly it was harder to correct myself. It was easier to fade out the edges with my primer brush (and whatever was left on it) to soften unmixed edges. They lasted between seven and eight hours before visibly fading.
