The popular social media platform Instagram has introduced a new feature called Reels Remix, which is inspired by TikTok.
The feature is similar to the popular TikTok feature called Duet. With this new feature, users can upload a video alongside someone else’s video.
The feature was introduced by TikTok and is very popular among developers who share dance and music videos. To reshuffle a role, tap a role’s three dot menu and select “Reshuffle This Role”. From there you can record your role or upload recorded footage.
Volume control is also available in the new function. You can also control the volume for the original audio or the recorded audio and add voice over along with other editing functions.
Remixes are only activated automatically for new roles. However, if you already have a role that you want people to remix, you can activate it manually by tapping on that three-dot menu in your own video and selecting “Activate Remix.”
If you’d like to turn off remixing on all of your reels, you can do so through your broader profile settings. Instagram launched Reels in India in July 2020. Facebook’s own application provided a short video feature after TikTok, which was very popular in India, was banned by the government.
The photo sharing platform introduced Reels with a similar format, but didn’t launch a standalone app for them. The function is available in the app. Instagram added a Reels button to the home screen and even made sure the videos got the cut for its global lite app.
