The Florida representative is at the center of a Justice Department investigation into allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old.
One donor wrote: “Bro, you need it more than I do. If I wasn’t clear before, this is for your BAIL-Brotha!”
Another paid Gaetz while simply leaving the message: “FBI extortion money”.
A third contributor wrote, “Legal protection fund for your sex trafficking allegations that you face for having sex with a child.”
“Go to Satan or Trump and buy your soul back,” added another user.
The internet quickly got wind of the wise men, and one Twitter user said, “Are people actually paying Matt Gaetz just to leave hate mail on his Venmo? It’s a unique donation strategy.”
The public payment feed of his @Matt Gaetz account has been inundated with digs over recent claims that he participated in ecstasy-fueled hotel romps with sugar babies – despite insisting he “never” paid for sex.

Instead, Gaetz has accused “organized criminals” of launching a smear campaign after rejecting blackmail threats to free the US hostage Robert Levinson, who is trapped in Iran.
The politician’s father, Don Gaetz, revealed a series of unverified bomb text messages allegedly from Bob Kent, a former Air Force intelligence officer who was allegedly directed by former federal attorney and Florida-based attorney David McGee.
A document entitled “Project Homecoming” reportedly given to Gaetz during a March 17 meeting with Kent said the 38-year-old was “under investigation by the FBI on various issues relating to public corruption and public integrity.” and claims that the FBI owns photos showing Gaetz in a “sexual orgy with underage prostitutes”.
The investigation has now started a new line of investigation after sources suspected that Gaetz and one of his associates in Florida sent cash via Venmo and valuables to women they met online and had sex with, reports ABC News.

The DOJ is trying to determine whether Gaetz was also involved in the former local politician Joel Greenberg’s scandal in which he was indicted last year.
Greenberg reportedly trafficked a young girl for sex in 2017. According to the New York Times, the investigators are now trying to determine whether Gaetz was also involved.
Congressman Gaetz is faced with increasing demands for resignation in the face of constantly emerging scandals.
