Asus is holding an event today to introduce the new ROG Phone 5 worldwide. At the end of the event, Asus is expected to announce pricing and availability for the smartphone in India. We can also expect to see some ROG gaming accessories announced at the event today. The Asus ROG event is scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m. IST today and will take place streamed live on the official Asus YouTube channel and other social media sites. Asus ROG Phone is the company’s gaming smartphone series. The ROG Phone 5 follows that ROG Phone 3 (review). While the details will finally be known in a few hours, from what we know so far, the ROG Phone 5 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 18GB of RAM, and a massive 6,000mAh battery. ROG Phone 5 expected specifications
According to a report from MySmartPrice, ROG Phone 5 is discovered on the Geekbench benchmarking website. The Geekbench list shows that the handset scored 1,113 points in the single-core test and 3,468 points in the multi-core test.
The report also suggests that Asus ROG Phone 5 will be the first gaming smartphone to offer 18GB of RAM. The smartphone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
In addition, the gaming smartphone is expected to have a 6.7-inch FHD + display and offer at least 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It may have a 6,000 mAh battery and it comes standard with Android 11.
