Yes – I’m still having trouble picking a transition shade versus the crease shade so that 4 or 5 colors in just one palette narrow it down for me and I can continue from there. Too many options and I’m overwhelmed and stick with old, routine decisions.

I like the price too, and it’s a great way to tempt myself into trying a new brand.

I will say, however, that if there were bigger pallets out and I can see how to use them – I think MAC did it where the top row is the cool, the middle is the neutral, and the bottom the warm was for those.

I am more familiar with a “system” for using the palette. I have no eye for what’s cool / neutral / warm or even for saturation or color depth. I often choose my transition color the wrong way and it messes up the look, makes it too mushy or too strong and choppy. Smaller, coherent palettes make it easier to create looks and encourage (my) creativity, as I can see the parameters within which I can work.

I was once told to have more confidence that once I built my confidence it would be easier.
Familiarity with the procedure does not mean trust. I’ve been with it for 7 years and have nothing to do with confidence – give me a palette of guidelines and I can apply it precisely and to my liking every time. I just don’t have an eye for temperature or color theory. I have a color wheel and also an app on my phone that was helpful.
