New Delhi: Samsung announced its 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor in September and now a new report says Motorola will be the first to use this sensor, followed by Xiaomi.

According to the leaker, Ice Universe Motorola will be the first to use the 200 MP sensor, followed by Xiaomi, which will use it in the second half of 2022, while Samsung is set to adopt the 200 MP sensor later in 2023 .

Previous reports suggested that Samsung would use a 200-megapixel camera on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it was later suggested that Samsung would skip it and carry a 108-megapixel camera on the back instead.

For the ultimate in low-light photography, the ISOCELL HP1 has brand new ChameleonCell technology, a pixel binning technology that uses a two-by-two, four-by-four or full pixel layout, depending on the environment.

According to the video and Samsung’s official statement, it can do 2X2 pixel binning, which allows the sensor to record 8K videos while reducing the field of view appropriately.

In a dimly lit environment, the HP1 transforms into a 12.5MP image sensor with large 2.56-in-pixels by merging 16 adjacent pixels. It supports multisampling, in which each pixel is read out several times and the measured values are averaged.

Meanwhile, the ISOCELL GN5 is the industry’s first 1.0-in image sensor to incorporate Dual Pixel Pro, an omnidirectional autofocus technology that can significantly improve autofocus functions.

This technology places two photodiodes, the smallest in the industry, in each 1.0-in-pixel of the sensor, either horizontally or vertically, to detect pattern changes in all directions.
