Municipal law firm Mishcon de Reya is reportedly being sued for £ 2.9 million for allegedly accepting “tainted” money from a former client as payment for legal fees.
The lawsuit by Tonstate Group, a real estate investment company, is the latest in a family dispute over real estate manager Edward Wojakovski, according to the Financial Times, which first covered the news.
Tonstate Group, which was in liquidation earlier this month, and an associate group are suing Mishcon, alleging that the law firm wrongly accepted funds from the firm that Wojakovski paid to settle the legal bills of the family dispute.
