Melt Cosmetics Besos Ultra Matte Lipstick ($ 19.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a rich, deeper red coral with moderate, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. The texture seemed a bit more silicone heavy and velvety compared to most of the brand’s matte lipsticks, but I found that it wasn’t forgiving of the lip texture and imperfections as it tended to stick and clump on them (despite the previous exfoliation) . It had a semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that held up decently for five and a half hours, staining, and feeling a little dry over time.

Melt Cosmetics Recuerdos Ultra Matte Lipstick ($ 19.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a medium dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It looked pink and lighter, and while it was very stiff and dry, it was actually applied much more evenly than I expected.

There was more transparency than true unevenness as it had medium buildable color coverage. The lipstick pulled noticeably on my lips when I applied it, even though it felt thin and light. This shade lasted a good five and a half hours, left a stain, and felt a little dry when worn.

Melt Cosmetics Alma Gemela Ultra Matte Lipstick ($ 19.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a neon, warm-toned pink with a flat, matte finish. It had an opaque coat of paint in a single coat that was applied fairly evenly and felt very light, if a little sticky.

The texture was denser, firmer, and slightly pulled when applied, but more comfortable than most of the brand’s lipsticks I’ve tried. It lasted over six hours and felt a little dry over time.
