The texture was denser and firmer in the tube so it wouldn’t slide in a single drag for me, but it didn’t pull too much that it was painful or difficult to transfer the color evenly to my lips.
It had a semi-opaque, buildable color release that had slight pilling in the close-up (though not enough to feel). This shade lasted a good four hours and felt neither dry nor moisturizing over time.

Formula overview

The formula is said to be a “comfortable matte” finish that provides “full coverage” that “does not dry” and includes “smoothing gels and texturizing powder” that provides a “smooth, matte, soft appearance”. It’s a silicone heavy formula that’s thin, very light, and has a “soft matte” finish that is mostly matte, but not quite as flat at first as a true matte lipstick.
I find that this type of formula is a more common release from a variety of brands, and they don’t often have a lot of differentiation. Unfortunately, in my experience, most of these formulas have a tendency to highlight lip texture and imperfections – especially to catch dandruff, even slight dryness – and to dissolve into lip wrinkles when worn. The lighter shades tend to apply worst and look worst, while medium and deeper shades can be applied smoother and more flattering.
I noticed that the red and berry tones of the series in the tube seemed stiffer than most of the other hues in the series, and this caused the base of the lipstick to break off the twist mechanism (which broke the following sunglasses: Alicia, Kiana, Kristen, Amanda).
The pigmentation varied from a semi-opaque to an opaque covering power, with lighter shades having a purer covering power compared to deeper shades. The initial consistency was firmer in the tube, though not so severe that I pulled painfully, but I found this tends to provide less pigmentation and tends to be a better application when building shorter, overlapping strokes overall.
The formula didn’t dry out and was very light so it felt like I had nothing on, but they only wore between two and five hours with some shades exceeding that range (like a red).

Makeup by Mario Jesse Ultra Suede LipstickMakeup by Mario Jesse Ultra Suede Lipstick ($ 24.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a muted, medium-dark plum with moderate, warm undertones and a soft, matte finish. It had opaque paint coverage in a single layer that was applied evenly to my lips, but had a tendency to cluster around structural imperfections (despite thorough exfoliation beforehand!).
The consistency was denser, a little firmer, but felt thin and light on my lips without sticking. It wore well for four hours and didn’t feel out over time.
