NEW LONDON, Connecticut, Nov 02, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Mike Petters, President and CEO of Huntington Ingalls Industries, made a clear call to approximately 1,000 U.S. Coast Guard Academy cadets on Thursday, Oct. 28, with Setting a good example with an understanding of what motivates a team and workforce.

Petters, who is passionately interested in questions of leadership and personnel development, performed with three cadets on the stage of the 32nd

“Great leaders recognize thousands of people who are motivated to do their best job, not just obey your orders. When you unleash and unleash this motivation from a leadership perspective, not only will you be interested in solving these complex problems, but you will live from it and actually do a superior performance, ”Petters told the cadets.

Petters encouraged the cadets to develop good ethical habits and reflect on all the ethical decisions we make on a daily basis.

He said the cadets needed to practice daily and understand the implications of their actions in order to develop good habits.

“Be the person in the group who makes everyone around you better,” Petters said.

“Sometimes the person next to you is promoted, but the people in this group know you. And that becomes a connection that transcends geography and time. “

On stage, Petters received a parting present from Regimental Commander Ryan Taylor. Petters immediately lifted it and said to the cadets, “Go Bears!” In reference to the US Coast Guard Academy’s mascot.
