ColourPop Penny Pincher Lux Liquid Lip ($ 8.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a light-medium pinky coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It looked lighter applied than initially patterned. The texture was thin, very runny which made it spread all over my lips, but there was some product that got stuck in my deeper lip lines. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that was well worn on me for four hours and felt neither drying nor moisturizing.

Formula overview
$ 8.00 / 0.17 oz. – $ 47.06 per ounce
The formula is said to have a “medium buildable opacity” that has a “soft, diffuse” effect. It’s a stronger version of their Blotted Lips concept or a slightly “washed out” version of their Ultra Matte / Ultra Satin range. The formula is much thinner – almost weightless – and spreads evenly with a single layer. I would argue that most of the shades were semi-opaque rather than medium and buildable – and I only used what was on the doe foot applicator for the upper and lower lip (without going back any more).
The consistency was airier, light, thin and spreadable with a soft down that wasn’t quite firm to the touch (like Ultra Mattes), but had significantly less transfer than a conventional lipstick (or even the Ulta Satins). They weren’t the most forgiving lip textures or lip lines, but they were more flattering than most of the formulas I’ve tried that are similar in effect and coverage. Some shades had a rather matte finish shortly after application, while others had a subtle sheen that wore off to a matte finish within an hour or less.
The shelf life was between three and six hours with some hues leaving subtle stains, and for the most part the formula didn’t feel drying to me. It had a sweet vanilla smell but no noticeable taste.

Tried and tested
ColourPop Tried and True Lux Liquid Lip ($ 8.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a medium copper brown with warmer, orange undertones and a silky sheen. The finish dried off to a more semi-matte / semi-matte finish and it took about half an hour to achieve a matte, more transfer-resistant finish.
The texture was light, thin, and very spreadable, and the wand provided medium, buildable pigmentation in one layer. It lasted a good four and a half hours and didn’t dry out.

To fly high
ColourPop On a Roll Lux Liquid Lip ($ 8.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a deep red with warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had a light dry to a more semi-matte finish that eventually wore off to a fully matte, more transfer-resistant finish (around an hour’s wear).
The texture was very light, spreadable and thin, but provided almost covering power in a single layer (but it should be buildable!). It lasted a good five hours and didn’t feel like it over time.
