Lausanne [Switzerland]October 19th (ANI): The International Boxing Association (AIBA) announced that the official gloves for the World Championships will now be white instead of replacing the red and blue.
With the title win, the champions also receive medals and belts that they can proudly keep and wear. AIBA will award the winners of the men’s world boxing championships with designed medals and belts to commemorate their achievements. The medals will each be made of solid gold and silver.
“We hope to give our athletes more reasons to push themselves and achieve greatness. With this prestigious title, the champions not only receive medals and belts that they can proudly keep and wear, but also significant prize money, ”said AIBA President Umar Kremlev in a statement.
“I’m confident this will motivate the younger generation to hit the boxing gyms, train hard and reach new heights,” he added.
According to AIBA, the difference between the corners will remain in the colors of the uniform, but the rules allow competitors to also wear the national colors on their jerseys.
“White gloves will symbolize the new beginning, fairness and transparency of our major events. We will do our best to give everyone a fair chance, ”said the AIBA President.
According to AIBA, the umbrella association is fully committed to gender equality and treats all boxers fairly. At the AIBA Women’s Boxing World Championship in Istanbul, women boxers receive the same prize money in each weight class. (ANI)
