New Delhi: Online Discussion Forum Reddit has announced a new video feed for its mobile app that aims to make it easier to see the content of the social network in just one place. According to 9To5Mac, if the user interface looks familiar, it’s because it’s TikTok inspired. The video feed can be accessed via a new button right next to the search bar. As soon as the user taps it, the app displays full-screen videos in a vertically scrollable list.
In addition to the playback controls, the user interface also has buttons for vote and vote, as well as comments, shares, and rewards.
Citing The Verge, the report said that the new video feed not only shows content from the subreddits you follow, but also shows suggested videos from other channels.
However, Reddit declined to detail how the algorithm selects which videos to display to each user.
As TikTok grows in popularity, other social networks are investing more in videos, the report said.
Social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat have already redesigned the user interface of their apps to make videos more prominent to compete with TikTok. Now it appears that Reddit is heading down the same path, it added. Also Read: SBI’s Independence Day Offer: Apply for Home Loans with 0% Processing Fees, Know the Process Here
