If you do not link your Aadhaar card to your PF account by September 1st, you will lose your EPF and PF benefits. Yes that’s right. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has required Employees Provident Fund (EPF) subscribers to link their PF UAN (Universal Account Number) to the Aadhaar Card in order to receive contributions to the PF from employers and other benefits.

The deadline for linking Aadhaar to the UAN number has been postponed from June 1, 2021 to September 1, 2021.

The new rule has been changed to Section 142, which provides for the identification of a worker or an unorganized worker or any other person through the Aadhaar card of the Social Security Code 2020. Section 142 defines the identity of a person so that he or she can apply for benefits or use the benefits granted under the code.

On the other hand, EPFO has also announced that the last implementation date for submitting ECR (electronic challan cum receipt or PF return) with Aadhaar-verified UA up to the 1st UAN, can only be submitted by ECR.

“The employer can submit a separate ECR for non-aadhaar-seeded UAN after the aadhaar seeding process is complete,” the EPFO said.

If you don’t link Aadhaar to your UAN number by that date, you will lose many EPF benefits, including advances amid COVID-19 and insurance benefits.
