Telecommunications company Airtel apologized for notifying some of its customers about disabling services and stopping outgoing calls on their numbers.

Telekom had incorrectly told some of its customers that they had to top up to continue their outgoing calls. The company later clarified that due to a technical error and specifically to Delhi, the message was sent. Airtel customers in other parts of the country were not affected.

“Your outbound services have been discontinued. To continue, click on airtel.in/prepaid-recharge or dial * 121 * 51 #, “Airtel had said in the original SMS.

The telecom operator issued a clarification stating that due to a technical problem, the wrong message about the deactivation of services may have been received. She also urged affected customers to ignore the content of the message completely and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
