Washington [US]Aug 3rd (ANI): Hollywood star Johnny Depp recently won a lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard that will force a charity to reveal whether the ‘Aquaman’ actor kept her promise to turn 7 Million dollars donated to divorce settlement.

According to Fox News, the Pirates of the Caribbean star was granted a partial motion by a New York judge who ordered the American Civil Liberties Union to release documents to confirm whether Heard donated the payout from their 2017 divorce.
Depp’s attorney Benjamin said in a statement to USA Today, “Mr. Depp is delighted with the court’s decision.” His lawyers have alleged Heard lied when he donated the entire divorce settlement to the ACLU and Los Angeles Children’s Hospital and may have cost him his libel suit against a UK newspaper in November 2020. “
Attorney Andrew Caldecott argued that Heard’s promise to the charities was a “calculated and manipulative lie” that “tipped off Mr. Depp from the start”.
Depp lost the case when a British judge ruled that a headline in a newspaper describing him as a “woman beater” during his marriage to Heard was “essentially true”.
Lawyers for that newspaper insisted Heard didn’t lie about the donations because they promised to pay them out over 10 years.
They have “made a number of payments in fulfillment of these pledges,” said attorney Adam Wolanski, USA Today reported. (ANI)
