TikTok today announced the establishment of its first regional fusion center in Dublin. The new center aims to advance threat detection on the platform to protect the TikTok community, accelerate the delivery of next-generation cyber threats, and assemble cyber investigations and workgroups to fight digital crime.
With this announcement, TikTok aims to create dozens of new, highly specialized roles for security, privacy, and policy professionals. According to TikTok, these experts will play a vital role in helping TikTok identify, assess, and eliminate risks.
Ireland is already the base for a number of other key functions of TikTok, including the EMEA Trust and Safety Hub, European SMB Operations, European Data Protection and Privacy Teams, and the Transparency and Accountability Center.
