CHEATING Matt Hancock is going to need more money to fund his new life with his lover, according to a former minister.

The ex-health minister is hoping for a political comeback after quitting in disgrace over violating his own Covid rules by snogging the married Gina Coladangelo in his department’s office.

The couple’s affair, revealed by The Sun last month, led to Mr. Hancock’s resignation and the end of his 15-year marriage.

CCTV images showed her in a hot clinch at work and the extramarital romance was exposed as a violation of Covid rules.

He then called his marriage to Martha for a while and should be ready for a new life with Gina, whom he met at Oxford University in the late 1990s.

Just two weeks after his resignation as health minister, love rat Hancock is already planning a return to politics, reports The Mail on Sunday.

He has reportedly sought advice from current and former ministers on how to fight back after his resignation – although some former cabinet colleagues urged him to leave the House of Commons entirely.

A friend of the ministers said he will definitely not be giving up his West Suffolk seat but will “prove himself a great MP in the back seat”.

However, they also warned that he will likely struggle to make ends meet on his MP’s salary of nearly £ 82,000.

He will have to rely on outside jobs to make extra money – which could be difficult given his high profile past position and the backlash he faced after the debacle of the affair.

The close pal said: “Given the notoriety he has now gained, it will be impossible for him to find new jobs without reporting them on the MPs’ Register (of Interest).

“That will be reluctant to put companies in the spotlight.”

And a former cabinet minister said that even if Mr Hancock remains a MP, he doesn’t think “he will ever return as a minister”.

“There are too many other MPs, young Tory MPs, who are going to run for ministerial posts,” he added.

Others disagree, however, and think the 42-year-old is young enough to make a full ministerial comeback.

They highlighted a section in Boris Johnson’s letter accepting his resignation, which said, “Your contribution to the civil service is far from over.”

“MINISTER FOR HUGS”

The talk of his attempted return to politics comes when The Sun revealed that Mr. Hancock wanted to give his lover a job three years ago.

A job search email was circulated among senior mandarins seeking possible employment for Gina in Whitehall.

The search came while the father of three, Mr Hancock, served as the Secretary of Culture for the first seven months of 2018.

The couple met as young adults at university before later joining his Tory leadership offering in 2019.

Then, in March last year, she was given an unpaid advisory role in the Department of Health before being named non-executive director of the department with £ 15,000 a year.

The husband of mother of three Gina is Oliver Tress, founder of the fashion and lifestyle company Oliver Bonas.

Mr. Hancock has held back since his infectious affair was exposed.

But he was caught at a vaccination center on Friday, where he is believed to have received his second Covid vaccination.

His mistress was seen in West London without wearing her wedding ring.

Mr Hancock also faced renewed humiliation last week after allegedly asking people to “call me the Minister for Hugs” just two months before the bomb was exposed.
