ILIA Uptown NightLite tanning powder ($ 34.00 for 0.42 oz.) Is a medium dark brown with warmer, golden undertones and a naturally matte finish. I found that it took on some of my skin’s natural finish (read: not flat or 100% matte!) But didn’t stick / became difficult.
The consistency was soft, smooth, and finely ground, but the pan was lightly powdery. I’ve found that it’s best to work with this formula with a lighter hand and apply the product and then build up if necessary. It had a rich color yield and wasn’t buildable as marketed which was the big “scam” of the formula. It lasted a good eight hours before it faded noticeably.

Formula overview

The formula is said to be “super creamy” with a “glow finish” with an intensity you can “choose” for more color. I wouldn’t call the formula buildable; It was pretty pigmented where a little lot was enough, so you should use a lighter hand, especially if you want more buildable coverage with this formula.
The texture was soft, smooth, and fairly miscible without being too powdery or too tightly pressed into the pan. It didn’t blend on bare skin the way I would have liked, but I had no problem blending it over matte or solid foundation. It’s not entirely unexpected that a matte finish doesn’t blend so easily over bare skin, but it was an area where it could have worked better. The formula lasted for eight to nine hours before it visibly faded.
