Comparable – an online portal that shows company cultures and market allowances, updated by actual employees now has shared a list of the best company CEOs (from large corporations) according to their employees’ assessment.

And it’s not surprising that the top 3 spots were given to CEOs of Indian origin. Let’s take a look at the top 11 tech company CEOs sorted by their employees.
1: Shantanu Narayen – Adobe
First on the list is creative applications giant Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayen. In December 2007 he took over the management of the company.

Born in Hyderabad, he received his bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications from the University College of Engineering at Osmania University in Hyderabad, followed by a master’s degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and an MBA from the Haas School of Business. University of California, Berkeley.
One of his employees describes him with the words: “Our CEO behaves like an adult. He doesn’t make a fool of himself on Twitter. And he is actively committed to doing good for the global community.”
2. Arvind Krishna (IBM)
Next on the list is IBM CEO Arvind Krishna. He was recently named as the company’s CEO in January 2020, previously holding the position of Senior Vice Presidentwho takes care of real estate such as IBM Cloud, IBM Security and Cognitive Applications as well as IBM Research.

Born in Andhra Pradesh, he received his bachelor’s degree from IIT Kanpur and his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He was also awarded the institution’s prestigious alumni awards. He is also the co-author of 15 patents and has written for ACM and IEEE journals. He is to take control of IBM from Ginni Rometty in April.
One of his co-workers says he has “the ability to inspire, create a sense of belonging and care, and communicate long-term visions”.
3. Satya Nadella – Microsoft
Satya Nadella claims third place as the best CEO of 2021. This comes the year he was also named chairman of Microsoft.

Nadella became CEO of Microsoft after Steve Balmer stepped down in 2014. The Nadella employees describe him as “really inspiring”, but also that he “has a good vision and his global strategy is excellent”.

4. Eric Yuan – Zoom Video Communication
Another CEO who was in the top five was Eric Yuan of Zoom Video Communications. His company rose to fame during the pandemic when video conferencing became the only way people and businesses could communicate and keep the ship afloat while the pandemic locked everyone indoors.

Born in Tai’an, Shandong Province, China, he completed a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics with a minor in computer applications from Shandong University of Science and Technology and a master’s degree in geology engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology in Beijing. Yuan also graduated from Stanford University in 2006 from an executive program.
He worked at WebEx, which was later acquired by Cisco, and left the company in 2011 to start Zoom.
Yuan’s employees claim that his “focus on happiness – for our customers and our employees – is contagious and permeates the organization from top to bottom.”
6: Vladimir Shmunis – RingCentral
CEO Vladimir Shmunis and CTO Vlad Vendrow jointly founded RingCentral – a company for cloud-based communication and collaboration solutions. Originally from Ukraine and emigrated to the USA in the 1970s, he later completed his Masters in Computer Science at San Francisco State University.

He founded the enterprise software company Ring Zero Systems, which he later sold to Motorola before joining Vendrow to found RingCentral in 1999.
According to his staff, he is “a very down to earth person, a great person and a great advocate of diversity and justice”.
7: Henry Schuck – ZoomInfo
Seventh on the list is Henry Schuck, CEO of ZoomInfo, an American company for subscription-based software as a service based in Vancouver, Washington. He graduated from Oxford with a Law Degree – International Law and a PhD from Ohio State University.

9: Sundar Pichai – Google and Alphabet
In the top 9 is the CEO of Google and Alphabet, Sundar Pichai. In fact, he wasn’t named CEO of Alphabet until 2019, while he was named CEO of Google in 2015.

11: Sarah Friar – Next door
The first female CEO to make this list, Friar leads Nextdoor – a social media platform that helps neighbors connect. Originally from Northern Ireland, Friar was appointed CEO of a neighborhood-oriented social networking platform in late 2018.

16: Archie Black – SPS Commerce
SPS Commerce is a cloud-based supply chain management software for retailers, suppliers, third-party logistics providers and partners. Archie Black was named CEO of the company in 1998. He also holds board positions at Proto Labs, University of St. Thomas.
